Who we are
Residentas operates this website and the apartments described on it. We decide how and why your personal data is used, which makes us the data controller.

What we collect, and why
We collect only the personal information needed to manage your booking, your stay and our legal obligations.

Who else sees it
We share your data only with companies that help us run the booking and the stay. They act on our instructions, under contract, and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Our reservation management platform, which holds reservations and guest contact details
- Stripe, which processes card payments and never shares full card numbers with us
- Our website hosting provider and our email delivery provider, which send booking emails
- Google (Analytics and advertising), only after you accept those cookies
- Our accountants, and public authorities where the law requires it, including guest registration for tourist accommodation
We never sell your personal data, and we never share it for someone else’s marketing.
Data sent outside Europe
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, or use support teams that are. Where your data travels outside the EEA, it is protected by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or by an adequacy decision for that country.
How long we keep it

Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to object to our using it, or to send it to another provider. Where we rely on your consent — cookies and marketing — you can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect what we did beforehand.
Write to residentas@residentas.com and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados — cnpd.pt.
Cookies
Cookies that are strictly necessary keep the website and the booking steps working; they cannot be switched off. Everything else — functional, analytics, performance and advertising cookies — is used only if you accept it in the cookie banner. Until you accept, analytics and advertising stay switched off and no such cookies are stored on your device.
You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner on the site.
Keeping your data safe
The site runs over an encrypted connection, card details go straight to our payment provider, and access to reservation data is limited to the people who need it to host you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions are always welcome at residentas@residentas.com.
