Seasonal Guide
Lisbon in Winter
Lisbon is one of the mildest capital cities in Europe in winter, which makes the off season one of the best times to visit. Days are cool and often bright, the crowds thin out, prices soften, and the city feels like it belongs to the people who live here again.

The Weather
Mild and often bright
Lisbon winters are gentle. Daytime temperatures usually sit in the mid teens, the light is low and golden, and bright days far outnumber grey ones. Pack a coat and a light layer rather than a heavy winter wardrobe, and you can walk the city comfortably from morning to evening.
Why Visit in Winter
Fewer crowds, better value
The crowds thin out, so the viewpoints, trams and pastelarias belong to you again, and rates are softer than in high summer. The festive season brings lights and markets across the centre, and the city throws one of Europe’s great New Year parties on the riverfront. Where to Stay
Where to stay in winter
In winter, staying central and walkable matters even more: you want everything a short, flat walk away rather than a hill or a taxi ride in the cool evening. Residentas Áurea sits in Baixa, Residentas Apóstolos in Chiado, Residentas Arco do Bandeira by Rossio, and Residentas São Pedro in Bairro Alto. Each is a boutique serviced apartment with a kitchen and room to settle in on cooler days.
Book direct with Residentas for our best rate and a €30 welcome voucher.
